Bee Wrappy

FAQs

What are beeswax wraps?

Bee Wrappy beeswax wraps are an alternative to single-use plastic and traditional cling-wrap. They are made using 100% natural ingredients and are beautifully designed, hand-crafted, dipped and folded at the foot of the Blue Mountains in NSW.

Is your cotton organic?

Sure is! We use GOTS certified Organic Cotton. Our dyes are also OEKO-Tex certified, which means the dyes use are classified as safe for food.

How do Bee Wrappys work?

With the warmth of your hands, the wraps become malleable. This allows you to mould them around food and bowls, where the wrap will stick to itself, creating a breathable yet protective cover. You can also fold Bee Wrappys into snack-pouches or little envelopes which are perfect for out and about.

What can I use my beeswax wraps for?

You can use your Bee Wrappys to cover almost any food or bowl in the kitchen.

Is there anything I cannot use my Bee Wrappy for?

Our Bee Wrappys should not be used to store raw meat or raw fish because they cannot be washed in hot water. You can wrap a sandwich which has a cooked meat filling or a baked lasagna you are storing for dinner.

What are Bee Wrappys made out of?

Our wraps are made with all-natural ingredients and no nasties. Organic Australian beeswax, dammar resin , Australian jojoba oil and virgin coconut oil. That's it. So, you can dispose of your wrap in the compost or green bin, knowing that its 100% bio-degradeable.

What do Bee Wrappys smell like?

Our wraps carry a subtle scent of beeswax with them, which will remind you that the bees helped to make them! The scent will reduce with time and use.

How do I wash and take care of them?

Super Simple!
Wash your wraps with cold soapy water, and drip dry them in your dish rack. Please keep them away from all heat sources or or hot water as they will begin to melt. After they dry you can store them anywhere (we store ours with the tea towels).

Wrapping specific foods, like beetroot, may result in some colour staining of your wraps - this is to be expected and you should think no more of it than a new one of a kind design.

Where can I store them?

Store them away from heat and direct sunlight, a great place is with your tea towels, or even on top of your bread bin. They look gorgeous enough to keep out!

How long will my beeswax wraps last?

With loving care, you can expect to get up to 12 months use out of your wraps. Because Bee Wrappys are a natural product, general wear, including creases and some cracking, may appear in the wax - this only adds to the character of the wraps!
